Whenever I told anyone, anyone at all, that I was traveling to Bali when I’m 34 weeks pregnant, their first reaction would be, “But why?” And after flying over 2000km there, and back, my advice to any heavily pregnant lady is: Don’t travel in your last trimester unless absolutely necessary. Yes I know, doh? It just did not occur to me, how fatigued and snappy I’d be, especially when we brought Lauren and Joshie with us. They are so cute yes, but rascals will always be rascals yea? Especially when they are confined to just 1-metre-square of space for 2.5 hours![space]
So what exactly was behind my cray cray decision to fly to Bali? [space]
There were 2 compelling reasons why I wanted to travel to Bali even though I was already 34 weeks pregnant. Firstly, it was my BFF’s wedding, how could I miss it right? Rayray is the groomsman and Lauren is the flower girl. I simply could not not go. All my BFFs would be there, Leo, Gracie, Xin! The FOMO in me acted out and I just had to! Secondly, it was an opportunity for Rayray and I to revisit the wedding chapel, Tirtha Uluwatu, where we exchanged our marriage vows back in 2011. And bringing both Lauren and Joshie there would mean so much to us.[space]
I have to say, it was all worth it. It’s been almost 6 years since our wedding at Tirtha Uluwatu, and going back just rekindled all the lovely memories of that beautiful day. And come on, just look at my babies, Lauren and Joshie. So cute! Yes they are still babies! Forever my babies![space]

Isn’t it beautiful?[space]
But ya, I’m just really glad I made it back to Singapore with Sarah still snugly in my uterus, cos I remember having a slight panic attack on the plane to Bali – What if I give birth on the plane? How’s the medical facilities in Bali like? Uh-oh. Yup genius. Should have thought of that before booking the wretched tickets![space]
Anyway, just a quick note, if you still think it’s a good idea to fly in your last trimester, do note that different airlines have different rules for pregnant ladies. Make sure you check their pregnant-ladies-policy on that. I had no idea my gynae’s letter had to be dated within 30 days of the flight and cos my letter was dated 35 days before the flight date, they rejected it. I had to rush from Terminal 1 to Terminal 2, so a doctor from Raffles Medical could actually certify I’m not over 35 weeks pregnant. On the spot![space]
It was a total nightmare! [space]
I was royally cheesed off and I don’t wish that to happen to any other pregnant sister, so do take note of that as long as you’re traveling after 28 weeks![space]
And here’s my hubs Rayray, the absolutely drop-dead gorgeous groomsman, and my beautiful angel Lauren as one of the flower girls. Blessed marriage to my darling Sheeshee & Wen![space]
