I was in the mood to make BB Lauren some dessert so I figured, might as well make her something nutritious! Hopefully she develops the acquired taste for healthy stuff instead of the overly-processed, sugar-laden and hormonal crap her mom is hooked on to. Sigh.
Objective of the day? Strawberry and blueberries yogurt sorbet! LOL. Basically puree some berries with yogurt and freeze it. Don’t add any sugar or honey! Not sure if it counts as sorbet but I doubt BB Lauren can tell the difference! Haha! Here goes!
I chose Korean strawberries cos they’re sweeter than the organic ones from USA. I mean, the whole point is to get BB Lauren to enjoy it right? If it’s not sweet, I doubt she’s going to have any of it. And then I will probably have to use it as a super-antioxidant face mask or something. Bah!
I really find their uniform shape very intriguing. And I ate a few, yum.
And then we have the blueberries, which I chose the NZ organic variety. Unfortunately, these turned out sour! Dang! They are usually sweet! I guess we won’t be using too many of them.
Fresh and plump! And sour.
And there’s the OZ organic greek yogurt. When it comes to yogurt for babies and kids, always choose full fat! Don’t go for low fat or no-fat! Babies need fats! We adults, on the other hand, need to WORK those fats. Choose sugar-free and organic to avoid the GMO crap.
Into my mighty Tefal 1000W blender. Bye bye berries, you’d be berry smithereens soon. So what do you get when you mix red with blue?
That’s right! You get purple! Strangely, it looks like blended purple dragon fruit.
And off they go into the trusty food cubes for freezing! After a couple of hours, we run a test on our subject, BB Lauren. Does she like it? Will she accept healthy frozen berries yogurt or will this concoction push her closer towards the dark side of cotton candy and lollipops? Watch the video to find out!
Conclusion: She didn’t really like it and only finished 1oz. I have to either pinch my nose and finish the remaining 1oz or use it as an antioxidant face mask. Epic fail! ***Note to self: Try strawberries and MANGOES the next time.
