Bellefit Review: A Postpartum Corset That Provides Support & Compression

I really needed the firm support for my posture (breastfeeding moms, take note!), and absolutely love the medical-grade compression. That’s me 8 weeks postpartum wearing the Bellefit Corset! Get the right size and you’d be able to function normally right after you give birth. Yes! I literally squeezed into my Bellefit Corset within hours of giving birth in the hospital.

For the record, I put on 22kg and was a whopping 67kg for my first pregnancy with Lauren. And I don’t know what I did right, but I managed to get my 25″ waist back. Was it my age? Was it due to the Bellefit? I can’t be sure, but the Bellefit was definitely part of my first postpartum recovery 6 years ago. Most importantly, I felt normal after giving birth. It definitely helps in the self-confidence department too.

Other Brand Postpartum Corsets and Girdles Did Not Work For Me

1) Does not slide. Up or down, left or right. A good girdle or corset does not move around, period.
2) Does not roll. You don’t want your girdle or corset to roll up and down your recovering body like a cake roll.
3) Does not pinch. Ouch, the inside material and structure of the girdle or corset can pinch your skin and fats if it’s poor quality or not well-designed.
4) Breathes. Yes, the material of the girdle or corset should not stink and should allow our skin to breathe. Otherwise, hello postpartum rashes~

Basically, a good postpartum girdle or corset should not only offer solid support and compression, but most importantly, be comfortable enough to be worn throughout the entire day. If it has any of the above issues, you’d likely take it off after a couple of hours and that’s really counter-productive if you wish to get your pre-pregnancy shape back. And that’s exactly what happened for my second and third postpartum recoveries.

I immediately regret my decision to save on a Bellefit.

So yes, I don’t like to name products that didn’t work for me, cos it’s unfair to present a one-sided opinion on a brand/product that most likely helped many other women, just not me.
